ESKA bottling plant
In Saint-Mathieu-d’Harricana, the ESKA water bottling plant is located directly on an esker from which it draws its exceptionally pure water. Therefore, special precautions had to be taken to avoid any contamination of the esker. Concrete slabs 3 to 4 feet thick were designed using low-heat hydration cement with structural fibre reinforcement, and temperatures were monitored with thermocouples during the curing process. Construction required some 5 000 m3 of concrete, supplied by our plant in Amos, and took more than 8 months to complete.
