Eastmain-1 spillway
A megastructure built with more than 21 000 m³ of mass concrete, the spillway controls water reservoir levels feeding the Eastmain-1 and Eastmain-1A hydroelectric power plants. We set up a mobile concrete plant on the site, including equipment and labour, to meet the enormous demand for concrete. In addition, to meet Hydro-Québec standards, we installed an ice plant on the site to cool the concrete to temperatures of 3ºC to 5ºC.
